FC Dynamo Moscow announce the signing of new contracts with two centre-backs – Toni Šunjić and Roman Yevgenyev. Šunjić’s two-year agreement contains one-year option for prolongation, while Yevgenyev stays at the club for three years.
Toni joined Dynamo in June 2017 and became a regular player at once. The Bosnian defender made his debut in the home derby against Spartak (2:2) on the 18th of July. In all tournaments Šunjić made 58 appearances for our club and scored four goals.
Toni Šunjić, Dynamo centre-back:
- I am glad to reach an agreement with Dynamo. Now I am going to the Austrian training camp where my teammates continue their preparation for the new season. I am accustomed to constantly improve my skills, to become even better than I am at the moment. In Dynamo we are united by one common goal – to earn a spot in European cups. It would be great to realize it. But it won’t be easy. We’ll try to move step by step. I hope that our performance will attract more and more fans. I would like to see full house in every match at VTB Arena.
Roman is a product of Lev Yashin Dynamo Football Academy. He made his debut for the first team in October last year. Yevgenyev came on as a substitute against Krylia Sovetov Samara (0:1, matchday 10). In total, he played 19 matches at the highest level. Roman also made 7 appearances for Dynamo-2, 32 appearances for Dynamo U-21 and played 4 matches in the UEFA Youth League.
Roman Yevgenyev, Dynamo centre-back:
- I am very happy to extend my contract with Dynamo. This is my home club, because I am a product of Lev Yashin Football Academy. Everything is good enough for me here. I decided that it’s better to stay here. I really want to be a part of such a great club. That’s why I didn’t consider offers from other sides. My priority task is to continue to play in the starting line-up. We all clearly understand that the 12th place is not what Dynamo is capable of. We will struggle for European cups!
